چکیده
Analyses of the diets frog species in a range different habitats have shown that these amphibians feed primarily on arthropods. In general, frogs are not selective predators, but may vary their capture mode along continuum between active and passive foraging. present study, we assessed diet two bromeliad-breeding genus Ololygon (= Scinax) through taxonomic functional identification (trophic guilds). We innovate use trophic guilds frogs’ preys phytophagous consumption as proxy for favoring bromeliads by frogs. also potential relationship size prey they ingest, whether rates varied seasonally, foraging mode. The results indicated composed predominantly arthropods both (O. littorea O. perpusilla). Most consumed belonged to orders Hemiptera, Diptera Hymenoptera. found no significant differences among number ingested rainy dry seasons either species, nor corresponding individual was restricted only vegetative parts did any pollinators. Taken together, suggested favor host bromeliad suggest cascade frogs, bromeliads,

Skin microbiota in frogs from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest: Species, forest type, and potential against pathogens
The cutaneous microbiota of amphibians can be defined as a biological component of protection, since it can be composed of bacteria that produce antimicrobial compounds. Several factors influence skin microbial structure and it is possible that environmental variations are among one of these factors, perhaps through physical-chemical variations in the skin. This community, therefore, is likely ...
متن کاملEffects of climate and forest structure on palms, bromeliads and bamboos in Atlantic Forest fragments of Northeastern Brazil.
Palms, bromeliads and bamboos are key elements of tropical forests and understanding the effects of climate, anthropogenic pressure and forest structure on these groups is crucial to forecast structural changes in tropical forests. Therefore, we investigated the effects of these factors on the abundance of these groups in 22 Atlantic forest fragments of Northeastern Brazil. Abundance of bromeli...
متن کاملDetection of Infectious Fungal Diseases of Frogs Inhabiting in Korea
In recent years, there has been a rapid decrease in amphibian populations worldwide, and infectious diseases have been associated with this decline. Diseased frogs inhabiting Korea were collected from fields, and the diseases were identified by morphological and molecular analyses. Two fungal diseases-saprolegniasis and chromomycosis-were detected in the frogs. Saprolegniasis caused by Saproleg...
متن کاملMolecular characterization of bromeliads from northeast Brazil.
Bromeliaceae is an important botany family that includes many species with economic value; demand for members of this family is increasing. However, illegal collection frequently occurs, drastically reducing the species populations; thus, it is necessary to collect and store Bromeliaceae genetic material. In this study, we identified and quantified genetic variability of the Bromeliad family us...
متن کاملMacroinvertebrates Inhabiting the Tank Leaf Terrestrial and Epiphyte Bromeliads at Reserva Adolpho Ducke, Manaus, Amazonas
The aim of this work was to investigate the diversity of macroinvertebrates and also verify if the abundance and diversity of Diptera were influenced by the abiotic factors. The samples were collected from the epiphytic and terrestrial bromeliads G. brasiliensis (1 and 3m) in wet and dry seasons at Reserva Adolpho Ducke analyzed total of 144 samples were analyzed from a total of 15,238 individu...
